4 Hydrating Face Masks I’m Loving Right Now
This winter has wreaked havoc with my skin so I’ve been on a mission to find hydrating face masks to help combat my unhappy skin.
I normally have combination skin which has been quite easy to take care of over the years. I’ve always been meticulous at taking off my makeup every night, even as a teenager and although I haven’t always used expensive face creams, I’ve always used products that were suitable for my skin type. Up until this winter, that’s all I’ve ever needed to do! 🙂 But as they say, ‘nothing stays the same.’
I started my experiment of finding the best face masks for my dehydrated skin back in December. I am a big fan of Korean skin care so I started my research there. It took me until this month before I found the perfect combination. These 4 go-to masks below are what I’m using now and loving! I tend to use face masks 3 to 4 times per week. Even on those mornings when I have an early booking, I put on my jelly face mask while I brush my teeth and make my coffee. 10 minutes later I have moisturized skin ready for makeup! Give these 4 face masks a try yourself especially if you’re finding winter a little tough on your skin this year as well.
The Therapy: Secret Made Moisturizing and Soothing Facial Mask
Where to find: The Face Shop | Price Point: $38.00 CDN
This jelly textured face mask gives your face instant hydration. I keep it on anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes and then remove it with my Clarins Toning Lotion. It leaves my skin hydrated and almost juicy looking afterwards. I love this mask just before applying my makeup. It gives a little plumpness to my skin that’s been lacking.
Eau Thermale Avene Soothing Moisture Mask
Where to find: Shoppers Drugmart | Price Point: $38.00 CDN
This is a mask I’ve used off and on for years. It’s been a staple in my skin care routine because it works. I use it a little differently than the directions state. I put this mask on at night when I need a boost of moisture. I let it soak in for about an hour and then go to bed without removing it. In the morning I remove it with warm water and apply my regular skin care routine. What this mask gives me is a deep hydration that leaves a noticeable difference to my skin texture.
Goji Berry Sheet Mask
Where to find: The Face Shop | Price Point: $2.00 CDN
The serum in this mask is brilliant! It’s another quick face mask that does the job of hydration quickly and effectively. I keep this mask on for 10-15 minutes and remove and then take the time to massage the remaining serum into my face using upward and circular motions. The hydration is instant and the more regular I use this mask the longer the effectives seem to last on my face.
The Solution Radiance Face Mask
Where to find: The Face Shop | Price Point: $2.00 CDN
This mask gives hydration but what I really love is the way it makes my skin appear lighter and yes, radiant! In combination with the other masks I’m using I rotate this mask into my routine and use it about once a week. I like using it in the morning and I let it soak in for about 15 minutes then I massage the left over serum onto my face. I let it sit there while I catch up on paperwork or emails. I give it about an hour and then I use my toner to rinse off any excess and then I moisturize using my regular skin care regime.
Vicki’s additional tips for hydrating facial skin:
- Drink water….lots and lots of water
- Exfoliate regularly
- Start getting facials regularly (will have a post about this soon!)
- Use a humidifier
- Increase Omega-3 into your diet (eat more oily fish like salmon or take supplements)
