My 3 Winter Body Skin Care Favourites Plus 1 Extra

The skin care products I can’t live without every winter with 1 new addition!

Winter body skin care favourites

I’ve noticed as I’m getting older that my skin is becoming much more dry than it was even 5 years ago.  Dry skin seems to run in my family with my mom, grandmothers and aunts all suffering with itchy dry skin especially during the winter season.

Before I get into my ‘can’t live without’ body skin care products I wanted to share with you that all of my product reviews are completely unbiased and are not paid for by any company/brand.  I either like a product or I don’t and will only recommend based on my own personal and professional experiences.

So without further ado  here are my favourite go-to winter body skin care favourites!

 L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil

When I’m not working on set or with a private client I love to wear perfume but when I am working I don’t like to wear a heavy scent.  As a makeup artist/hairstylist I often work up close and personal with my clients and not everyone loves perfumes like I do!  So instead I choose scents that are soft, natural and non offensive.  I’ve been using L’Occitane almond shower oil for a number of years now and it’s my go-to during the winter months.  Enriched with almond oil, it leaves my skin so soft that when I’m in a hurry I don’t even need to use a moisturizer after my shower!  I love the natural almond scent (it’s seriously gorgeous!) and the way it foams up ever so lightly to clean my skin in the shower.  Vicki’s tip:  Try adding a little to your bath.  It will give you very mild bubbles and you’re able to surround yourself with that delicious almond scent longer!

Clarins Toner Body Polisher (my new addition!)

I can thank my husband for introducing me to this product.

Mark, my husband, knows I love Clarins body products and every Christmas I’m treated to my favourites.  This Christmas in addition to my regular favourites he also gifted me with Clarins toner body polisher.  I wish I could put into words how this product has changed my life!  Yes, I know that sounds dramatic but the difference in my skin after just one use was DRAMATIC!  You rub this polisher onto your skin when it’s damp.  I put it on just as I step into the shower and then massage all over my body.  It’s made from 100% pure plant extracts and the scent is heavenly.  No, actually it’s beyond heavenly!  It is invigorating and intoxicating.  It really polished my skin so softly yet so effectively.  By the time I stepped out of the shower my skin felt like silk.

The Body Shop Shea Body Butter

While I was living in Britain for 5 years I spent 1 year living in Stirling Scotland…

My husband’s business took us to Stirling Scotland for a little over a year.  I decided to help supplement my makeup/hair income while I was living there and worked part time at The Body Shop.  I really fell in love with The Body Shop, the company itself and many of their products.  I can’t imagine many people haven’t tried a Body Shop body butter at some point in their lives.  If you’re one of the few, give them a try.  They really are wonderful creams and they come in a variety of lovely natural scents.  My go-to body butter has been and will always be Shea.  I love them all but when my skin needs moisture nothing works like The Body Shop Shea Body Butter.

The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue

Here’s another long time favourite of mine from The Body Shop.  I’ve tried so many other lines, even some very high end brands but I keep coming back to this foot cream.  In the winter my feet need help and nothing and I mean nothing beats this product!  I don’t use it every day although I probably should but do use it weekly usually after I’ve had a bath and have a little bit of time to pamper myself.  I rub the soothing cream onto my feet, stick a pair of socks on and let the magic begin.  This little routine of mine keeps my feet in good condition all winter season.
